I have a tropical pitcher plant that i think would do well in the enclosure my jacksons is in. I'm just wondering if a high output fluorescent life is safe for my jacksons? the light is rather bright and i want to make sure it doesn't hurt his eyes.

Without knowing the specs of the light its hard to answer. I do know that jax are not a full-sun-loving species so a super high output fluorescent might well bother him enough that he spends most of his time hidden. I'm not sure a pitcher plant would do all that well in a cham setup, but I've never tried one. You might be able to mount a narrow spotlight from the side right on the plant and not have it flood the entire cage.
