Cham room makeover

So, as things go...this cham hobby grows on you. As things grow my "cham" room that was in all honestly a hobby room catch all is being repurposed as a real cham room. So in this it need NOT to have carpet and look the part. This weekend was D-day for getting it all done before it gets SUPER hot here in AZ. We decided to rip the carpet out and put down a water proof floor, we found a great option "wood" Trafficmaster Allure flooring which is a vinyl floor that is made and textured like wood and goes down in planks like wood but is 100% water proof which is great for a humid wet cham room. We decided to go with a washable green paint to make it even more like a jungle;) We got a lot done today and it will make tomorrow pretty quick and painless.

For all those AZ people look for a AZ cham keepers meeting/BBQ in the VERY near future :D

We relocated all chams to the "play" area of the family room for the remodel

"Wood" going down ...this is an African black wood  This is AZ so we have two AC units to keep the house cool. The one in the window is the third and just to keep this cham room at 75 deg or less;)

Thanks Suzi! I am SO excited about the floors too;) I got low fume paint but am still going to wait a few days before moving them all back in. I might also go with some of those stands that Olimpia got from Lowe's too...just have to figure out how to water proof the shelves.

*blush*
Thank you Rob!
Suzi I thought of your Cham room project when i saw Rob's floors!

Ok, Anne since Suzi isn't spilling it, post up the pics you have of what she has going on:D

awesome setup so far! Im sure it will turn out great. What part of az are you located im in tucson..

Your room is looking awesome. I like the looks of the faux wood it'll be great for a jungle themed cham room. Can't wait to see how it turns out.:)

Wow Rob! You are a busy man over the holiday. :) It's looking great so far. I can't wait to see the finished photos. You'll have to tell me more about that wood look floor. I might want that in my entire house. I'd love to redo Camille's pink room for Sadie with the green paint and chameleon window toppers. If only I had several husbands to take care of my giant honey do list. :p

I like it! I like it! I like it! Looks so nice so far. My wife wouldn't let me have that many chams - ever! Doing superb job.

So it's been a long weekend...both figuratively and literally. The room is done minus the stuff  We are going to let the fumes dissipate before moving the cham's back in. I am loving the way the floor turned out:cool:

Sorry, I didn't get this post on my email updates and for obvious reasons I haven't been on the forum much this weekend:eek:
The flooring is really great stuff. It is made by Trafficmaster and is called Allure. You can get it from Home Depot either online or more "normal" styles in the store. It installs great (this is my first flooring install ever) and all went well. The stuff I ordered was $1.39 sq/ft
