Chamaeleo calyptratus... first bred in captivity by the San Diego Zoo in 1990 (eggs laid September 1990)...

I think those are the folk that spend several thousand dollars for a mating pair, before everyone discovered they breed like rabbits.

Veiled chameleons prefer warm temperatures. Daytime ambient temperatures should be 26-31Co (80-88° F). They should also have a focal basking site with a temperature range of 35-44° C (95-110° F).

Yea i like my veileds well done.

I never kept my veiled chameleons basking area nearly that hot....and the daytime temperatures were less for mine too. They lived long lives with me...so I guess it wasn't a bad thing.

I had to save up so much for a captive bred...
