I found this picture today of an engraving done I669 by Abraham Bosse. My great great great etc. Grandfather. So it would seem that chameleons go way back in my family lol. I think this is awesome and I'm gunna get a print made for my wall in my reptile room.

Wow! That is so interesting! Did you know that when you bought a chameleon?

No I had no idea. Litteraly just found this today.

That is really cool. Any chance you have a hi res scan of that?

Unfortunately no I found it on the internet and connected it to my family tree on ancestry.com. It was published in a books and displayed in museums several times.

Yes grandpa days, when men were men, women were men, and i guess chameleons were men. Everyone worked the dock and was ripped.

Hahaha ya the good old days.

Very cool.

Here’s the turn anantomy of my Veiled Sage by a good friend of my. Trace Crest.

Lol awesome.

Sometimes I'm just lucky!
Not sure if it was an interest he had or a job (to illustrate it). Either way ...it's very interesting.

Awesome. Thanks for the links. Ya it would seem that it was probably an assignment from the company he was working for. My guess is he probably got a depiction from a scientist studying them abroad and was assigned to make an illustration for a book. Still very awesome. It's a lot different from a lot of the other work I could find by him.
