New Feature: Chameleon Blogging :)

What is a blog?
wikipedia: blog
The intended use for blogs on this website is primarily for chameleon related journals. While the forums are for community discussions, a blog at the Chameleon Forums is more of a personal space for documenting your experiences as a chameleon keeper.

How do I get my blog at the Chameleon Forums?
All established members have access to a personal blog. You can access your blog and view recent activity of other blogs by following this link: www.chameleonforums.com/blog.php

How can i use my blog?
Members can choose to manage their own blog by creating categories and moderating comments. Blog owners can also choose to make their blog viewable to the public, open only to a few friends, or completely private. As mentioned above, the goal is to help members document or log their chameleon keeping experiences. Other topics of personal interest are acceptable, but there are limitations (see rules).

What are the rules?
All forum rules should be followed when posting in blogs. Blogs at the Chameleon Forums are not places to run a campaign for or against another person or company. They are also not to be used as an obvious commercial tool. Breeding experiences can be posted, but posting your list of available animals with prices is not allowed at this time. Keep commercial transactions and conversations private or in the classifieds forum. Again, personal blogs are not intended to be used as a commercial tool. The Chameleon Forums reserves the right to remove blog posts at the sole discretion of the site administrator or site staff. Continued abuse will eventually lead to being banned from the Chameleon Forums. To be safe, if the content is not appropriate for kids, it is not appropriate for this website. These rules will be modified or replaced over time.

Do not do this
Discussions need to take place in the forums. Do not ask chameleon husbandry questions in your blog entries; this would be better received in the forums. Do not post in the forums asking for people to answer a question you have asked in your blog. Treat your blog as a personal journal that you may or may not allow others to view.

This is ok
It is perfectly fine to reference your blog in the forums if it contributes to a thread. When posting in the forums, do not post with only a link to a blog entry. Give current and future readers an intro to what you are linking to.

Please Remember
Please remember that the forums are the main place for discussion. Blogs at the Chameleon Forums are personal journals that may or may not allow public viewing and simple comments. Also, please remember that site blogs are not to be used as a commercial tool.

This space is saved for future use

More integration will occur over the next couple days.

Chameleon Journal

Members have access to their own blog at the Chameleon Forums. These are great for logging your experiences as a chameleon keeper and creating references for forum discussions. Members can moderate their own space, create custom categories, and decide what is private and what is public.

More forum integration and new features such as custom styles and social networking are coming soon.

The forum rules should be followed when posting in blogs. In particular, blogs should not be used to discuss personal/commercial disputes among the chameleon community. While members are welcome to treat their blog as a journal and write about their breeding experiences, blogs should not be used as an obvious commercial tool.

Im finding this a useful place to log what i feed my chameleons (instead of the little pad of paper I was using) and to keep track of links (both threads in this forum and to urls elsewhere) I like to refer to.

I have been keeping what I feel is important information for myself and to share. I have posts about raising crickets, supers and I will have one on dubias when I get that far. It helps me to remember good advice.
