Chameleon cage.

So I'm going to be getting a panther chameleon (not sure what local) and I'm building the enclosure. I was wondering, does the cage need to be metal or can it be wood? Also, what are a few species of plants that would be good for chameleons? I know the basic pothos, umbrella plant, and ficus, but are there any other really good ant that are cheap, sturdy, and get to a decent size? Thanks,

As long as you water proof the wood it will be fine.
