Chams can't hear, but the do communicate through low frequency noises they make. They can feel the vibrations of low frequency sounds, so if you sing to your cham in a deep low tone it will feel those vibrations.

Actualluy chameleons cant hear well, but they can hear frequencies from 200 through 600 Hz. And honestly, thats pritty good for a reptile with no outer ears.
That's why I sing/talk to my cham.

Haha my mother sings a lullaby to my cham every night before lights off, despite the fact I've told her many times she probably can't hear it, it's kind of cute to see

I talk to mine anytime I feed, handle or treat them. It's a habit from working at vet hospitals. I just hope they don't think it's me chewing and they are next.
