Chameleon drinking question?

I have never really seen my chameleon drink before. Today, I sprayed her for a really long time, like 10 minutes straight. She would not drink. Then, I exited the room to get something to eat. I came back a few minutes later, and she was lapping up water. As soon as she realized I was back, she immediately stopped and crawled away. Why does she not like to drink when I am there?

Some chameleons are shy about drinking. If you install a dripper she can drink when you're not there. And if you mist the whole enclosure she will drink the droplets left on the leaves.

What colour are her urates?

The one I've had for 18 months has only drunk in front of me 7 times. Yes, I can keep count because I haven't run out of fingers yet...

Mine both stop whatever they are doing, including eating, when they realize I'm there. It's like I've caught them doing something naughty or something.
