Chameleon Forums Favicon Contest

Chameleon Forums needs an attractive and unique favicon. I'm not very talented so I have decided to run a contest. All members are welcome and encouraged to participate. Whoever wins the contest will receive the prize listed below. Use google or wikipedia for more information if needed. This is basically a 16x16 image displayed in your browser address bar.

You are welcome to post your favicon in this thread, but all final designs must be emailed as an attachment to [email protected]

The Prize:
An awe-inspiring one of a kind origami boulder with chameleon haiku and custom display case. Proudly display this fine piece of Japanese art next to your chameleons and bring them good health.

Usually the favicon is designed in mind of the most related or recognizable image on the site. Also to note simplicity.

So this in mind, heres my entry: I just used the little chameleon on the header logo. To me he's the 'Chameleon forums' mascot.

I don't think the chameleon would be recognizable at 16x16 pixels. Also, that logo will be replaced very soon.

Maybe I am not quited cultured enough, but when I try to picture an "origami boulder" I picture a crumbled up ball of paper... I will try to come up with something cool.. .To me the coolest part would be seeing my design on the site all day.

Just curious...

How much different will the logo be? If it's going to be a drastic change, maybe this contest should be held off. The efforts put in may not correlate to the new design.

We humans can be a fickle bunch. In a way we are much like our chameleons (slow to adaptation... habitual). Much kudos' will go a long way from your members if you allow them to have some input on the new design. Maybe this is a good time for another poll. (ex: it's time for a change vs. like it just the way it is).

I haven't been here that long and what I have seen so far I like a lot. I like the simplicity of the whole layout (Less is more... why fix something that isn't broken?).

That 'Lil Fella', just screams 'Chameleon forums'!!! There's no mistaking that I am on another site.

I encourage everyone to look at there 'favorite bookmarks' and compare the favicon's and how most of them are either just letters or an image that will represent the site (given that they are small... majority of them are almost subliminal).

BTW: if it's not hinted... I do computer graphics and websites... and have dabbled in designing a couple forum boards (I know all the heartaches & glories that go along in running a 'community'... can't please everyone!). Brad if you need any help... just let me know!!!

a little while back i changed it back to one of the old chams.
i thought it was better but i like horns on my cham.

How much different will the logo be?...

The logo will be similar to the sandbox style, minus the grass/butterfly. This will be a new default style, but I will continue to have 2-3 additional styles containing a few previous contest winners in the header. The need for a banner in the header is what forced the change.

I really like this one as well. Nice
