Chameleon Growth

Zoey

I had a basic question... I just thought of it...

Some of you know how my Female Chameleon came to me from a local person. I got Zoey when she was 6 Months old and the person I got her from had her since she was 2 months of age.

Zoey was in a 1 1/2 foot tall bird cage, 8" wide. Fully of fake vines and what not, but there was only a basking bulb. She was taken outside a few times in the summer.

Would not having a UVB bulb for so long affect her later in life? She hasn't grown since I've had her ('cept her fatter tummy) and she's almost a year.

Was just wondering because I just thought of it.

Well lets see a picture of her. She may possibly be done with her huge growth spurt, and now is just growing very slowly. The UVB may of had an effect, but lets see a picture.

I've had her since late September so I would have to say no MBD otherwise I think she would be dead? Maybe its because in the summer they took her ut into the sun on most days??

She was kept in a round bird cage with a plastic lid and the only light they had used on her was a reading lamp. Small and portable. No other lights in sight. The lady told us that the ONLY light she needed was one like the one she had attached to the cage.

Here are a few pictures JUST took them. Haven't seen her grown since we got her and we got her at 6 months. (She's almost 1year now)
**Pictures look dark because I had to unplug her lights to get the shot to look any other color but yellow- if that makes since**

Sitting like she is in the 1st picture she is about 5 1/2" from tip of nose to base of tail.

Looks healthy!
How long is she?
Like what was said earlier, she may just be full grown. well, no more growth spurts atleast.

That could be true. If you look at picture #1 she's about 5 1/2" from tip of nose to base of tail. (Her tails curled so Its hard to get a measure with it!)

At this point she should be done with her rapid growth and will grow slower anyway. My 1 year female isn't much bigger - maybe 6" nose to vent.

Thanks thats kinda nice to know. I thought it might have affected her.

I was trying to explain it to my mother earlier and she was all "what, why do they need that? " she wasn't getting anything I said :)
