Hello,

this is my first post, and i am a first time cham owner. i have tons of questions. My veiled is about a year old and i was thinking of doing some redecorating to his enclosure. how sensitive are chams to changes in their enviroment. Im thinking or rearranging things quite a bit, but don't want to upset him. any info would be fantabulous. :)

Any overall improvement to his habitat is worth the stress changing it. Put the cham somewhere else while you make the changes. If you have the right weather I would put it outside for some real sun while you make changes. Do you have an outdoor sunning cage? Chams are subjected to stress all the time in the wild. It's part of their life. Temporary stress for a change for the better is fine. Prolonged stress of an inappropriate habitat or surroundings is what causes problems. Go for it!

Some would also suggest that chams get bored if they are in the same type of enviornment day after day. Keep them stimulated by moving stuff around on them. I do minor changes with the vines and plants in his cage about once a week.

Feed the crap out of him a few days before you rearrange things. That way, if he goes off feed for a while because of the changes, its no big deal.
