chameleon hanging from top of inclosure

So my chameleon is hanging from the top of the inclosure under where the heat lamp is sitting on the mesh top and she looks dark in color.. why is she doing this? And what should i do about it if anything?

To my understanding, it's possible she may be doing this in order to absorb more heat. If this is a consistent behavior, it may be worth checking just what exactly the temperature around your basking branch is, as it might not be warm enough for her. What are the current temperatures in her enclosure?
I believe the maximum basking temp for females sits around 85F (assuming she's a veiled chameleon.)
That's just my first thought reading this; I'm pretty new here but I have seen discussion of this topic. This video may help provide more insight!

Have you tested your heat lamp to make sure it won’t burn her?

Basking for adult female veileds should be 80F.
