Chameleon Lifespan?

I realized today I have no idea how long I can expect my veiled to live for because nothing I have read gave any sort of indication to lifespan. How long have your chameleons lasted?

my first cham died when he's 6 years old (by accident too.. some family member open the sliding cage and accidentally shut the door when my cham shot his tongue) i am soo angryyyyyy and kinda yelled at him...

But the normal life expectancy is about 5 years. some wonderful owners can even extend their Cham's life all the way to 8 years (i heard rumors that they get to 10 years)..

in the wild their life expectancies are about 3 years (with the threat of predators and all)

The last couple of female veileds I lost were over 6 years old and the males were even older. I have one female veiled right now that it over 6 and another that it over 4.
