Chameleon longevity

I am a new member and currently I am working towards getting everything I need before I get a chameleon. I am trying to learn all I can about taking care of a new chameleon (I plan on getting a panther). There is one question that I haven't found an answer for yet (it is probably here somewhere but I have yet to find it). What is the average life expectancy for a panther chameleon? I realize there are many factors that can affect this as from all I am reading they are prone to some health issues but generally speaking about how long do they live and what is the longest any of you have had your chameleon live? Hello, I had a male panther live to 8 years. He died only a couple months after he turned 8. Arnold was a wonderful cham. My last panther, I have moved on to others.

My friends panther hit 9! Was a male obviously. Expect a bit less from a female
