Chameleon Noises

[Thor the chameleon]

I've read chameleons can hiss, I've never heard mine do that, but he does make these weird sound sometimes. Like a puff or a short burst of air that is kinda sqeeky. (Best way i can think of to describe it) Anyone else ever hear this noise? Does it mean something? I've been posting a lot and asking a lot but i want to make sure everything is right for my chameleon.

My panthers and Meller's have never made a sound I can hear. The veiled, now she can let out a hiss if you come at her to fast.

If it's like a quick blast it could be the Snort of Chameleonic Judgment. My guy does it when he's offended but not angry or threatened. Can you post a video?

My chameleon Mr Jolly huffs / puffs - He only does it when I try and convince him he has to go back in his viv after being out for walkies, It's one quite short lowish pitch huff , it's kind of a subtle warning to me he's not that pleased but no other actions are taken by him after, he's not angry or stressed either, he's super chilled and tame but it does always make me laugh when he does it.

mine does the same thing, its almost like a little cough. I think it helps them clear out there nose from anything in there, its pretty normal. I've seen people post about it. although, when i put my hand in his cage quickly he makes it so it could also mean a little warning sign (like a dog when they do a short growl)

Couldn't this also be a upper respiratory issue? Wheezy (including lil Wayne) is not a good thing

I'm pretty sure it's nothing bad. Seems like he does it when he doesn't like something.

Mine definitely only does this noise when grumpy so from my point of view totally normal, it's never a wheeze whilst resting- just a puff quite deliberately made when things aren't going his way.

I love the grumpy snort. It's like a cross between a mouse sneezing and an old man shouting "Guff!".
