I started to feed my cham wax worms
And mealworms and now he won't eat
Anything , he is 4 months old faly.???

Try not feeding him ne worms for afew days. I've just had the same with my male cham, liking them worms to much!! I've not fed him ne for last few days n he now bk on his hoppers x

That's not necessarily the only reason he could not be eating. I've had 6 chameleons, all fed on worms, crickets, roaches, and they've never had a strike because they like worms. Especially, following that reasoning, if they were spoiled on worms then the only thing they would eat would be worms. It's like a kid hooked on candy, he won't eat his veggies but he will happily eat candy. If your chameleon isn't eating anything at all then something is probably up. Especially at his age, when they are the most food greedy.

Have you filled out the help form yet? It might be worth looking over your husbandry and see if he isn't too cold or something like that.

Also shedding some do not eat-are they looking a little whitish, gray? If so could be ready to shed- if they are and do shed. Up the mistings helps them get rid of it faster- just don't you help by plucking it off- even though you may be tempted- very tempted. You can do damage to them. Not sure what but the experienced ones do!

Wish I knew 1/2 of what they forgot in raising a cham, life would be some much easier :)

Belived I said "try" not feeding him worms. Didn't say that that was the reason for him not eatin. Just sayin that I brought my Chams wax worms for the first time last wk, my female will eat nething i put infront of her but my male is very fussy. He only had 3 wax worms a day, nothin else. I stopped giving him worms so he went on strike for 4 days but now bk on his hoppers. Just cos it says iam new to the site does NOT mean iam new to chams! I've read a lot on this site n sum ppl cum across very bitchy & very patrinising. I feel very put off of replying to anyone on this site.

He is a 4 month old nosy faly Apollo
I have had him for about a month now
His mane diet used to be crickets and
That was it then I started feeding him
Wax worms and mealworms after about
A day he stoped eating everything I feed
The crickets butternut squash carrots apple
Papaya and romaine lettuce ,the same for
The other feeders his cage is upstairs on
A 2 and a half foot shelf there is no fann
Near it he has a ficus benjimina a 2 vines
And a fake plant in his cage it is not glass
He is not in a high traffic area I spray his
Cage 3 times a day for a minute each time
I dust his food with calcium d3 5 days and
Multi viteman 2 days I handle him 1 a day
For about 1-10 minutes I don't keep track of
The temp cause I don't have the gages he goes
To sleep at 9:30 and wakes up at 7:30 that is all
Of the info about my chameleon ( Mellow) :)

D3 5 times?? U mean in a wk? If so cut that rite bk ta twice a month. Just pure calcium every day, every feeder. Multi vits twice a month too. That's wot I do. Sum brands have low amounts of d3 in but I feel safer wit pure calcium. Think it plays on their liver? Not sure tho i just no to much d3 is bad for chams

Woah there, I didn't say anything that was bitchy. I said that that wouldn't necessarily be the only reason he'd be on strike. And for this case it doesn't make sense to me. I don't look at people's status on this site, I could care less. But I see that reason as the #1 reason chams go on strike and to me it doesn't fit half the cases people say it in. Especially in this one, where the owner says the cham isn't eating anything at all.

To Mellow,

There are many things that could be contributing to him not eating, or at least not feeling well. The supplement schedule you should be following should look a bit like this:
1. Phosphorous-free calcium without Vit. D3 - for use at nearly every feeding.
2. Phosphorous-free calcium with Vit. D3 - for use twice a month.
3. Multivitamin - for use twice a month

You NEED temp and humidity gauges, they are vital! Otherwise you don't know if you're cooking your chameleon, if he's cold, if he's too humid, too dry... these are incredibly important things to know, I can't stress that enough. Please go to Home Depot/Lowes and find a couple digital temp/hydrometers for $5 and place one probe on the basking branch and another lower in the cage. The warmest basking temp for him should be between 80-85*F while the bottom of the cage should be about 75* with a drop at night no lower than 60-65*F. I wouldn't be surprised if he's not eating because he's too cold to digest anything, and the waxworms and mealworms are tougher because of the could to digest.

Also, your gutloading could use some work. Check out Sandrachameleon's blogs for good fruit/veggies to use which offer the best levels of good stuff. Also, maybe invest in some premade food like Cricket Crack or Bug Burger? It can't hurt to add a good, pre-made dry food to your insects.

What lights are you using? You didn't say anything about that.
