I have a male senegal chameleon in the cage and i just ordered a female one. I am just nervous that I did not plan a head about if they would get a long. I am getting mixed reviews. they are both young. what do you think ?

hi!,
chameleons should not be kept together. im assuming you don't know how old they are because they will probably be wild caught. you should house them separately :)

I am keeping them both in the same cage. the place where i bought my male said it was fine i also called various places. I have a back up cage just incase.

It is fine if they are very young like a couple of months old. After that, you need to house them seperately. Where did you buy him from? What were the various place that told you it was ok?. You will need that other cage. If your chams are older than a couple of months then SEPERATE them.

I have the two of them in the same cage and there seems to be no problems. but what would be the signs of something bad happening. they are both very young.

alright thank you thats very helpful. Luckily they seem to really enjoy each others company the only thing is now that shes in the cage he has developed black spots around her. does that have anything to do with attracting a mate

that could be a sign of stress.. I would just keep them in separate cages just in case.. usually when they show dark colors they are stressed.. So just as a precaution, separate them.

If you keep them together you will cause undue stress.
Too much stress can lead to illness and death.

NTM your'e just asking for them to breed.

Did you think about that? or how you will handle eggs, babies, rehoming the babies?

Keep them in seperate cages.
