Chameleon Safe Questions

As some of you know, we've recently lost our Veil. We are planning to get another in the near future. Before we do i want to make some changes to the cage.

Our cage has small spaces near the corners that our small crickets would hide in. I want to fill theses crevices and the edges. I was wondering if GE 1 silicone was chameleon safe? I know it is aquarium safe.

The other question i have is about chameleon safe plants. I have seen that most people reference FLChams Safe plant list. There are a few species that i have reservations about,ie firstborn (this plant had thorns, and has berries that i believe to be toxic). Are we sure that this list is accurate? Is there another list that i can use as a cross reference? In reading FLChams list I noticed that Golden pothos is potentially toxic. Yet this is one of the most used and recommended plants here on the forums. *Seinfeld voice* What's the deal with that?

Thank you for the link. Your blog it's very informative. The reason i had inquired about the plant list is because i intend to do a large vivarium as the forever home, and am looking to have some vine plants like pothos, some tree/shrub like Benjamina,schlefera, ferns, and some sort of ground cover(which i know he won't hardly ever use, but i still want it to be safe, like baby tears)

As long as the silicone is cured its fine. But, if your insects are free ranged they will still find places to hide. They can groom off their supplement dust before your cham finds them, might chew on your cham at night when it is asleep (so put a little gutload in the cage for them), and can eat grungy stuff off the cage floor that you might not want your cham ingesting. I suppose pothos is listed as potentially toxic if the cham happened to eat a huge amount of the plant. Seems unlikely.

Sealing is more of a deterrent to make the bugs easier to find.
