As Laurie has already said - please fill in the info - it'll help us to help you. What style of bulb is your UV? Compact (spiral) or linear (tube)? When my Lily started closing her eyes in the day I whisked her to the vets the next morning, but she died less than a week later, so if you have any real concerns I would book a vets visit.

Yes, book a vet appt asap. We can help but when they start sleeping during the day that is a very serious sign of something wrong. Be sure to have all your husbandry info written down and bring it with you. Ex: cage size and type, all supplements you use and how often they are given, and the type of bulbs you use and the kind of feeders u give him. Also what you feed your feeders. Bring all that info with you too the vets office it will help him/her to narrow down the possible cause of the problem.

A few things.
1. just lately i have seen my chameleon (jackson) close his eyes very breifly during the day. When i aproch his cage, he opens his eyes again. He doesnt do this to much.
2. I have noticed a dark brown spot on his lip and am concered about this being mouth rot.

He needs a vet visit asap. If he has any type of infection whether its mouth rot or uri etc.. He will need to be put on a schedule of antibiotics to combat the infection.

Also...you said you are alternating between a powder with D3, herptivite and one without D3...most people use the phos.-free calcium at most feedings and the D3 and vitamin powder only twice a month each. You may also have to give it a little prEformed vitamin A once in a while...but it builds up in the system so you need to be very careful with it.
