Chameleon trying to get out of cage

Just changed around my chameleons cage added extra plants etc. and now he doesn't want to be in his cage and he keeps on trying to climb the glass and every time I put my hand in he climbs up me and won't go back in his cage. But before he used to love being in his cage. Is he ill ?

He may be trying to explore. Can you send a photo of the enclosure and include the lights on the top?

If you moved everything around, he probably doesn’t feel like he’s in his territory now.

I had the same issue. I had stripped my cage because we had a pinworm infection and I needed to clean everything. Well, I didn't put the branches and plants back the same way, and my guy took a couple weeks to settle back in. He pushed on the cage door and climbed on the screens. It was awful to watch, but he eventually calmed down.

Post a picture of your entire cage including lighting on top. It could be as simple as he is reacting to the change or this behavior can also happen when the enclosure is not set up properly for them.
