Chameleon with a weird veil

I have a male chameleon who is 11 months old and has a kinda weird looking veil. Its not flat like how i have seen normal ones. It kinda looks like pics of swollen veiled chameleons (only the veil part) but not as bad. He has puffy looking bumps on each side of his veil that are squishy, and near the back of the veil before it ends are some hard parts that jut out... should i take him to a vet?? i will send pics when i can

here is a pic from the front

The way it grow ,it has to do with nutrition and care, how are ur feeding and supplements?does he always look like this when he was younger??

when he was younger he looked normal, he kinda grew into looking like that so its been a few months since he had that and i thought it might be a normal growing thing, and then i kept researching it and got worried... I feed him mealworms and dusted crickets. Mainly mealworms. I also occasionally dust the mealworms too...

i read on the internet that the puffiness may be from over feeding like a fat storage? There are so many different care sheets. i have been feeding him regularly every day, and it said that once they are adults to feed them every other day. They are adults when they reach a year old right? or is it before? Would it be because of over feeding???

Mealworm is like a fat greasey sausage...nothing but FAT,that explains to me why the veiled casque is storeing lots fat cells in it,put him on a healthy diet like silkworm, gutloaded dubias n crickets.

Time for some less fatty diet ....small meals everyday or medium meals every other day, what ur cham eat is what they going to looklike n u will be that nutritionist for caring ur cham since they cant shop or prep the food by themselves.

What's your supplement schedule like? What supplements are you using? How often do you change your uvb bulbs? What's your gutload regimen like? It looks like it hasn't grown properly and that's usually caused by mbd.. Could you post some full body pictures of him?

I would take it to the vet to be on the safe side, I've seen Veileds that have MBD that have a spongy casque. We need to see a full pic. I could be wrong but that second pic, his front leg at the wrist looks a little puffy. Just my two cents, better safe than sorry!

Every day in the morning i dust crickets or mealworms with calcium powder and hand feed them to him ( i wash my hands before and after) I change the uv bulbs every 6 months. I have gotten crickets and mealworms from a petstore which gutloads them, and if i dont feed the ones i get to him that day i usually put carrot bits in there for the crickets to eat. (sorry i havent replied, did not get notifications for some reason) I will try to post more body pictures

Its been a few months since i got all this advice, these pictures are from today. His veil looks a little better, not as puffy looking, but still has the weird bumps. The only other issue he seems to have is that he keeps closing his left eye (which you cant see in this picture) but when he does open his eye it looks perfectly fine. I have been watching his eye too to make sure nothing is wrong and have been doing a lot of research.
