Chameleon won't eat crickets/worms

My chameleon recently had a small injury on his tongue and would not eat his crickets. He did eat a couple of meal worms. I took him to the vet who put him on Baytril and has me feeding Chamo a/d food. I have seen some of you post about this before. The last time we went to the vet he said his mouth/tongue looked fine. The problem is that it has now been 10 days and he still won't eat crickets. Any suggestions on how to reintroduce crickets or other worms to him. I have even tried wax worm and he won't go for them. He is only 5 months old.

Have you tried silks or small supers? My cham is very finicky on crickets right now too(even though I just got a new shipment today). He looooves silkworms! Yesterday he at 4 crickets in a row and today would not touch them. He has never gone for 10 days though. Have you tried not feeding him at all? I know it sounds mean but make him hungry and maybe he will eat what he is given. I have read they can go awhile without eating but I think that is the adults. He is still very young so maybe some of the seniors can chime in here on how long he can go without eating. I just say dont give up on offering the crickets. Also, have you tried feeding them to him in a different place other than the cage?. I noticed mine will not touch them in the cage but will eat them more willingly if I have him outside on my patio in a plant or something. One more thing, if he is not eating at all then you might want to take him to the vet as a precaution. Most of the threads about not eating are more mature than yours. At 5 months mine would eat anything in sight.

Dubias

I noticed that with mine and he is 8 mo now that sometimes he seams just to not be in the mood for crickets so I started feeding him Dubias and he loves them. So i find that I alternate what he gets. Also i have heard from others that sometimes the wings can cause issues you might ( as gross as this may sound) try pulling the wings off if your feeding him crikets that have huge wings.

:) He finally started eating his crickets. i guess it just had to be on his terms. I didn't feed him the a/d food for two days and was just about to give it to him again when he finally decided to eat a cricket.
