Chameleons color

Is there anything I can do to boost my panther chameleons color?

is it a male or female? how old is it?

these can all go into the coloration of a chameleon.
but i am not an expert so i don't know that much.

What kind of chameleon? Is it a panther? How old? If he's young, then do not expect to see much color.

Is he healthy? What color is he most of the time? Boring color is not a bad sign as it usually means they are content. Do you see coloration when he sleeps?

There seems to be some evidence (from the archives) that color may be restored with some exposure to natural (the Sun) UVB. It may also be a cyclical thing related to breeding seasons.

Jack went thru this strange ‘phase’ where his color got completely washed out for a few months. As he’s my first panther and I haven’t even yet had him for a year, I’ve no idea what it was all about. I did find a thread (different one) that assured me it happens. As mysteriously and slowly as it appeared, it went away.
He’s never fully ‘fired up’ for me, but both of these are as close as he’s come. Crazy difference!

That sounds like the cyclical thing. I haven't seen it yet (11 months old) but at least I'll be prepared and not FREAK OUT!!!

Looking at the two pictures, in the first one he seems almost bored and not as alert and in the second one he is alert and interested in his surroundings. I don’t know how to explain it bette than that but that’s what I see.

He’s a panther. He is about a year and a couple months old. Yes he is very healthy. Yes he is very colorful when he is asleep

the healthier they are the happier they are the better their coloring is gonna pop... feed good...well hydrated.....good uv exposure will bring out your boys color the best it will

Adding full spectrum led lights made my chameleons colors really POP. With that said from February to today he looks like two different chameleon. From all greens and blues to almost completely Red and he did have that pastel / dull / washed out phase in between. First photo and second photo are from January and March of this year showing blue and green

Then was the pastel phase and a slow morph into the reds

Then the last is more recent showing his normal "walking around colors" he certainly looks like his papa (biological not me) some days I miss the old blue and green
