Chameleons eyes are closed.

Hi my chameleons eyes have been closed for quite awhile now. About a month. I’ve tried changing her food diet. Giving her vitamins and all. It started with one eye and moved to the other. I’ve tried washing with saline and nothing seems to be working she liked when I run the shower and have it bounce off the wall.

Omg how does she eat? You need a vet visit asap. Also what are her supplement. Should be calcium without d3 daily then twice a month a good multi like Reptivite. Vitamin A is essential for the eyes.

You need a vet visit asap. And you need to overhaul that cage. She does not have the right UVB type which is more then likely the cause for the decline and eyes being closed. Without the proper changes she will further decline until she passes. Shower can stress them out majorly and should only be done for dehydrated chams and only using room temp water bouncing off the side.

Neptune the chameleon youtube videos are a great source of info as well. Then ask questions in the forum.

I put her in the shower and when she sticks her head up I put super worms above her and she usually eats them her self. A few times I had to get her to open her mouth so she wouldn’t die. I have no reptile vets near me. I give her both supplements. A reptitive supplement with d3 and repticalcium.

Which lights should I get

Which lights should I get
You will need more then lighting... Read through the link I gave you.

The correct UVB lighting would be a T5HO fixture and a 5.0 or 6% bulb for it. You want a 24 inch fixture because if she makes it through this she has to be upgraded to a 2x2x4ft cage. Reptisun or Arcadia brand. For either of these fixtures the distance with the fixture sitting directly on the cage top would be 8-9 inches to the closest branch below. This should be an immediate purchase.

She definitely needs to see a good reptile vet asap.
In addition to that, you need to get the husbandry corrected….starting with the UVB light, and looking at the temperatures, supplements and water…then the plants and vines.

Here are the husbandry questions…please answer them with details.
