Changes to veiled environment

Hi, as I said in my intro I am very new to caring for a chameleon. We have started getting along for a few days and for the last couple days he has been less colourful. I worry that something is stressing him. I am wondering if introducing new objects to his enclosure could do that. It is an artificial plant that drips water. Mainly it's to keep humidity in the tank, but if he isn't happy with it, I will be happy to get rid of it.

A calm cham won't show the same bright colors that an upset one will. Brighter colors are a stress reaction, not necessarily a "happier" coloration.
