Chicken Feed

I just bought a Roach Colony on the low, and they used Chicken feed...
is that bad? I still use bug burger 24 hours Prior to feeding them off, but they gave me a big box of chicken feed. Should I replace it with something else?

Yeah agree with @Gingero chicken feed can be medicated and has all sorts of additives. I guess we'd need to know which kind. I have found a horse feed that I like that is whole foods(no preservatives, added vitamins, etc... just seeds, alfalfa, druid fruit/veggies, etc), but for one colony I'd stick to just using the bug burger and regular gutloading/feeding ingredients.

What’s the brand of the horse feed your using? I’m almost out of dry feed and would like a cheaper alternative than the commercial stuff made for roaches I’ve been using.

Solid ingredients, no additives. Formulated to have a variety of healthy fats, vitamins, and amino acids. Compared to using insect chow or even fish food like some do, it's much cheaper per lb and very nutritious. It is perishable though so I keep it in the fridge. I grind it up as some of the roaches wont chew open the husks on some of the seeds. Some I leave as seeds which sprout in the bins. The bugs have been doing so good on this stuff. It's high in protein obviously, so I only feed it once a week.

I have no idea what kind it is.

He gave it to me in a ziploc bag.
Is the feed grains or a crumble/pellet form?
If its scratch grains. You should be fine.
I've never seen scratch grains medicated.
Its basically just a treat feed. I buy my chickens and ducks a bag ever so often when I get the urge to spoil them with junk food.
Where I am, medicated feed is actually harder to find in feed stores and the local TSC.

Weird.
I haven't seen any that looks like that.
Scratch grains consist mostly of cracked corn and oats.
The pelleted form has soya been meal in it. But its all ground up.
Donyou have a picture?

This is the Pic she sent.
