Chlorinated Water

In my area the water is really chlorinated. As I've just invested in a misting system (Mistking) I was wondering if there are any cham friendly things I can add to the water to make it 'normal'.

you can get a reptile water conditioner or if the chlorine is actually chlorine (not some super powered chlorination, iforgot the actual chemical) allow a bucket to sit overnight and it will evaporate out then put it in your reservoir

good luck

Do you have any brand names? These things are really hard to get over here. The only likely place for me to get anything from is a fish shop, but they can't guarentee its cham safe, so a brand would be really useful!

I take a gallon jug, fill it up with facet water and shake. This helps to release the chlorine gases. I shake it several times a day and get good results. I also use this method when making iced tea. I leave it on the counter for an hour or so before drinking or putting it into the refrigerator.

not entirely i think it reduces it by 75 percent or something like that

and you who thinks shaking your water helps, that is laughable it takes 24 hours, and even then if your water is hard which it is, it will still be

It depends on how you filter the water but RO water should be pure so should not contain anyhting, if it does thyen check your filters. RO water is great but contains no goodness for the cham so i tend to mix half ro and half tap plus use exo terra water conditioner.

Thanks for the help guys! Will try and source some RO water. Still haven't had my misting system turn up yet though :( I ordered it on the 22nd of last month....

Rember that your cham will get no goodness from just RO water so you would need to put something in it?

ro doesn't remove everything just most solids, and anyone who cuts ro with tap water is silly imo because ro does all that work to waste and flush out bad water, why would you want to remix it with tap and then mix some exo terra crap in it, there is no exo terra crap in the wild

there's also no RO systems in the wild.lol.

That's a bit harsh mate. Using total tap water is not safe nor good for a misting system etc By adding part tap water just puts back some of the stuff the cham needs. I only use a little exo terra stuff to remove the chlorine?

What is your suggestion? I have read that using pure tap water is not good? I understood that a good ro system remoces everything hence why i use it for my marine system and discus.
