This is Cam. She's a little over a year old. I weighed her today and she was 121 gm. I don't feel any eggs in her but I always have a lay bin ready just in case.

It is nice to see a healthy veiled on here. No bent and broken legs, burns, or sunken eyes. She's a good example of husbandry done right. I love her to death too. She's miserable and at best tolerates me because I am the bringer of bugs but she has a huge personality and makes me laugh.

She looks fat to me. What insects, how much, and how often are you feeding her?
I know she's fat and I've been feeding her too much. I normally feed her every other day. I feed crickets, hornworms, dubia, and superworms. In the summer she gets wild caught insects too. It's safe, no pesticides here. I grew up in a house where food=love and she's finally decided I'm ok and she'll handfeed now and I've been giving her lots of hornworms and superworms recently trying to work on some trust. It's taken her a year but she's quit turning black and hissing me just for looking at her in her enclosure.
My other chams are of healthy weight. So are my dogs lol

I don't mean to insult just a fat chameleon is usually the onslaught of an unhealthy one with a drastically shorter life just be careful.

She has receptive colors so she may not just be fat. I would also cut down on her feedings immediately because you may be able to reduce her eggs by just a little and any amount helps.

She is due to lay soon. Her last clutch was in April or May. Right before I put her outside for the summer. She's never laid a normal clutch. Her 1st was last December, not long after I got her. Those eggs were perfectly round and about the size of perlite in potting soil. Her last clutch was normal shape and size but completely calcified. I know she's showing receptive colors. I have a male veiled too and when she gets a glimpse of him she's quite interested.

I dust every feeding with calcium without D3 and calcium with D3 and a multivitamin 2x a month on alternate weeks. In the summer she's outside so I don't use the calcium with D3 because she gets plenty of natural UVB. Like I said her 1st clutch was right after I got her and she was a Petsmart cham so I understand that clutch being off. I don't over suppliment so I'm not sure why her 2nd clutch was calcified. I know some people give liquid calcium when they lay but I don't think that's necessary for her at this point. Not since she's had calcified eggs and I do feed a variety of well gutloaded feeders.
