This project is about 75% done, still need to install sliding acrylic doors, place heat lamps above, add a few more misting nozzles, and it will be FULLY planted. Considering some LED grow lights since there is two large Hibiscus but I know nothing about them atm so thats on hold. Also a couple pics of its new habitant :D

On a 6x2 drain table like this, a 4" slope wont work with one drain. Had to add another two. Cage has its own mist king since ghe melleri gets much more water than my others. There will be a smaller Hibiscus added, 4 hanging pothos, a mid size schefflera and a bunch of irish moss that Im going to attempt to grow, and a palm. Cage dimensions are roughly 6'wX25D x 5.5' tall.

Bahhh, I missed so much!!!

That is some good work man! Keep it up!

Im glad you got that mellerii! :) (more jealous, but glad all the same)

Harley, because you could have bought a Harley with all that chameleoning? :p

What great use of a closet - I'm jealous and now wondering which closet in my house I can give up! Harley is beautiful also, hope he/she loves their new home!

Lol thanks man. I probably could have bought a decent bike for what i have put into chameleoning LOL. But more so the beast that it will grow into :p

Lol thank you Michelle :) You would not believe the look I received when I told my girlfriend I was turning the closet into a cage:rolleyes:

This is a great idea makes me wish I had an extra closet!

Looking at the set up I began to wonder if I could use our extra shower as a chameleon set up. The second bathroom needs remodeling I wonder if my wife would be a little surprised if instead of a bathroom we got a sweet chameleon set up...

looks sweet, so no more clothes? lol
Lol I had another emtpy closet, and half the stuff in this one was junk so it worked out pretty good.

Haha we all need extra closets now!
The biggest issue with this is running electricty, and could be a bigger problem in a shower. I still have to figure out a better way to run it, with it coming through the venting at the top it looks kinda shotty:eek:

Do you rent or own? Ideally installing a junction box and hard wiring a dual florescent in ceiling fixture and a in ceiling spot for basking... The bathroom fixtures already exist for this and they are made to resist the damp conditions you would get in a cham set up.

If you rent and can't tear into the ceiling it is harder.

I own. That was/is my last option if I cannot find a clean looking way without cutting open the ceiling. I didnt even think of the issue until half way through the build so if Im going to do it, Id better do it before I plant it lol. Otherwise its gonna be one HUGE mess haha

In the long run closet lighting can only improve property value :)

The easier option would be to just run some conduit which you could either paint or wrap with a natural fiber to look like a vine. Alternately you can get a low profile indoor conduit that blends in quite nicely when painted the same color as the wall. You could tuck an electric Box with a CFCI plug installed on top and either plug in or hard wire to the nearest outlet via the conduit.

There are some really good how-to books on wiring and electricity you can find at home depot or Lowes if you haven't done electric work before. I rewired a good portion of my house and had it inspected by an electrician because I'm paranoid. Apparently those books were good enough because they said everything looked professional.

You have really put a lot of planning and work into this project. How awesome it is turning out!!! :)

Hmmmm.... Now I may just do that anyway! :p
