All reptiles are cold. They are cold blooded creatures and not like mammals. Thats why we provide them heat sources, because they cant produce their own body heatAre all chameleons cold when there picked up?
Hahaha, didn't see that coming! Not as cold as my x. My chameleons are much warmer! Oops, sorry wrong forum!
Much better advice! You rock!Depends on their environment.....under the basking spot or regular room temperature since they can not produce heat by themself.....so the God creates lights...yup...yup
Thank you,the pleasures will be all mine....God bless....yup...yupMuch better advice! You rock!
Haha, thank you scout
According to Bayard Brattstrom at the California State College, the mean internal body temperature for a lizard is about 29C (this will fluctuate a fair bit depending on the availability of heat. This is also not chameleon specific, by the way- I didn't come across any specific information for chams), while a human's is about 37C. The internal body temperature of reptiles does tend to be lower than that of mammals, thanks to our internal furnace.
Weird fact: if a 250lb snake breathes on you, you will get the chills because their breath is COLD!
If a 250lb snake breathed on me I don't think it would be his breath that sent a cold chill down my back.
