i just got some collard greens for my 5 month old veiled chameleon how much should i give him a day he loves his greens also how should i prepare it

A little bit of olive oil, some garlic, sautee over medium heat and serve with hush puppies. :D

sorry, I just couldn't help myself.

Just like with any new food, start out slow and small. Be sure they are washed. You can over do Vitamin A so the more doesn't necessarily mean better.

In my experience, veileds that eat a lot of greens need to be upped in their water intake.

i wouldnt call veileds omnivores, you should concentrate on giving a good gutload to the insects.

My female chams both like spring greens...just make sure they are cut up into smallish pieces so they dont bite off more than they can chew LOL. From what I have researched veileds often eat greens and are a valuable source of vitamins and moisture. Yes they may have adapted to eat greens when water was short but some just enjoy eating greens. If you are offering greens all the time you do need to make sure that they are varied (not just spring greens)so they dont get too much of any one thing. Ofcause you do still need to make sure your cham is getting a good supply of water with misting and dripper.
