hello,
I would like to find out if anyone knows what it means when your female chameleon displays a very lite whiteish color with black dots all over her body. She has been this way for 2 weeks now. It seems like she has been this way ever since the other female laid her eggs. Anyone???? Thank you very much everyone for your help.

What kind of chameleon? And what is your husbandry like? If you fill out the how to ask for help form, it'd help us a lot.

Pictures would be very helpful, and we will also need more information, such as age and species, etc to be able to help more. As suggested already, please fill out the 'How to Ask For Help' form for us.

I am so sorry, I am very new to this!! She is a Veiled Chameeon and i think she might by around 6mo old? The pet store i got her from does not know anything about them. I know what your going to say!! ((LOL)) But it is the only petstore her that sells them. I keep them in a 55 gal, fish tank at night with heat lights. But i always let them out side in the FL, room all day. It is like 75 to 85 most days out there. They have always been fine. They get along very good. But like 2 weeks ago when the other girl laid her eggs I put them in different tanks for like a week. Thats when she went this color that i am asking you about. She looked very sad and just laid on the bottom of the tank. Could she be sad that she did not lay eggs? Thanks again!!

AGAIN, please fill out the form above and be as specific as possible. They should not be kept in a glass fish tank. They should be kept in individual screen cages. No, she is not sad that she didn't lay eggs. Post a picture of the chameleon. Depending on where you live and the night temperatures, you may not even need that heat lamp at night.

Chameleons dont really get sad... They get sick. They dont need any heat at night unless it drops below 60 at night. They need their own screen cages since you live in an area where it is suitable.
