hey guys Rampage is starting to get really dark in his cage and stay that way he also and prefers to stay away from the light, but when i take him out, he gets very light, and is very energetic, but in his cage he is so lithargic it seems he wants to die (he does eat and drink and his poo looks totally normal) how/what can i do to help him?

is the cage set up wrong or what do you guys think it could be?

cage is mesh 20x20x36

Mine used to be very lethargic in her cage, but she was usually bright green when she just hung out... Have you taken him to the vet to get him checked out?

not yet, i just realized the trend today so idk what it could be... havn't takin him to a vet, will any vet work or are all vets capible of caring for a cham?

Mine is 4 months old and it changes colors frequently. When he is out on the branches basking, he turns brown. When he goes back into the leaves/bushes, he turns a bright green.

You said..."light is a 5. sun bulb and one UVB bulb both stay on for around 12 hours"...don't know what you mean by a "sun bulb"...but are either of them compacts?

the sun blub is like other one for heat, not the UVB one...

niether one of them are compacts, the UVB is about 20 inches long and the sun bulb is full size as well

73%, i was wrong on the basking it is around 100 F

i really think he just doesn't like his cage because he is always much brighter when he is out of it...

what are the cage dementions and a pic would help and 100 degrees is to hot panthers like at make 90 so move bakind buld bake a lil bit and maybe get him a larger cage but i dont know the size so i dont know that part.

Well the reason I asked about the humidity is I had/am having the same issue as you. I have a 7 week panther that was almost pitch black all day, except for the two times i took him out.

I had my humidity between 60-80%. I reduced it to 30% to see if it made a difference. Since the reduction, he has returned to normal colors, and activity level has increased as well.
