I crocheted him myself The pattern is by Planetjune.com . He does happen to be for sale at http://www.etsy.com/shop/dragonsroyaltearoom, but I kind of just wanted to show him off, haha. I am also crocheting one in bright blue to be a nosy be chameleon.

You should! All it takes to get started is a ball of yarn, crochet hook, and stitch marker, which can even just be a different color of yarn! If your thing has separate pieces, you'll want a darning needle as well ravelry.com has TONS of easy free patterns to get started with.
