Hi, I have seen some people offering goldfish as a sparing snack for their cham. I know alot who feed their chams pinkies, about 4-6 a year. I was wondering if the pros and cons of feeding goldfish would be the same as offering pinkies?
The first I can think of is parasites. One time I cutted open a fish I caught and It was full of worms. Im not shure If the captive golfish have them though. Also, there full of little bones inside, and pinkies arent (I think)
hmm your right, i dont really know where they have been or how they are being brought to the store. unlike farm raised pinkies. parasites pretty much said it all. thanks
the little bones would be an excellent source of natural calcium and fish bones r easier to digest no usually feeder goldfish are free of parasites so long as they are purchased from a reputable fish dealer remember they are feeders bein feed to peoples prize fish i dont know about the transfer of fish parasites to reptile but i have feed goldfish dusted they are high in protein and unlike pinkies low in fat
