i constantly here that computer fans can be used to increase ventilation in a glass terrarium my question is how would i even hook up a computer fan to use it? does any one have any pics??

couldn't you just buy a cheap PC power supply and run them that way? i cut the end off a cell phone charger and the end of a PC fan and twisted the ends together and tried to run off that once but it barely turned, idk if the voltage was too low or what (not very good with electrical stuff)

They can be used if you buy the right ones. As far as hooking them up goes, ask a local computer shop, they are normally quite helpful, especially if you buy the fans from them.... hehe

It just so happens that I just bought a fan and the adaptors today from radio shack so I could use it in one of my incubators.

The parts are-

273-238 4" brushless VDC cooling fan
273-349 enercell adaptaplug power leads
273-316 enercel 3/4.5/6/7.5/9/12vdc 1A ac-to-dc power adapter

Hookup is really simple. Just take the bare wires on the end of your fan, twist them up with the bare wire ends of the power leads and cover with electric tape or small wire nuts and then plug the other end of the power leads into the power adapter (the plug that goes in the wall socket). Then on the front of the plug make sure you have the slider on 12.

The salesmen at radioshack should be able to show you how to hook the 3 parts up together in a minute's time.

Cost was $35
