I see how it works now, looking at the page :p they seem to really care about what you as a customer need. Its refreshing (y) seems like it comes with everything you need. Except of course a reservoir.
Do you have ishues with it spraying outside of your enclosure alot? inevitable i know, easily fixed but just curious :p that and i must admit im amused that it comes with a keychain lol!

ahh...no not really coz mine is a GLASS cage EXOTERRA it never gets out.. the way the nozzle work is precise u can aim the direction u want and radius it blows mist is not really that wide its roughly 12" when it sprays....

Ill do some more research on it presently, but this is the particular one im looking at.

The amazon page is vague.
I asume this is electrical? And the canister in the picture is pressurized air? If it is pressurized air will it refill itself? (this is why i asume its electric)
Is it loud?

I'm researching the exact same model myself. I have that same item in my Amazon shopping cart. Be mindful of the sellers rating. Currently the seller "Big A's..." only has a 92% rating on Amazon. (Amazon also sells this, but thru them it's $161.00 with Prime shipping, so you really are paying shipping - lol)

Will Mist King warranty these thru Amazon or Big Al's?

Go to LLLReptile. I believe they are a site sponsor. Cheapest price (list price) and shipping. Shipping was less than $4 to me in Ohio from California. Why I haven't bought it yet is beyond me. According to the Mist King web site, LLLReptile is an authorized seller, so warranty should be intact.

And finally, NO I do not work for LLLReptile. I'm not even a customer yet. ;)

EDIT: Ignore the text in RED above, I just went to the website and bought it...$133.98 to my door. :p

That's what I said - lol ;)

The Mist King Website would be the best place, as you get more options to customize and build up a system. BUT they are in Canada, so I've been told shipping is SLOW and their shipping costs are crazy high. The basic system cost over $35 to ship when I checked the other day.

I went with LLLReptile:
  • LLLReptile is a site sponsor,(y)
  • Has the same price ($129.99) as Mist King and everyone else(y)
  • Cheapest shipping ($4) that I could find(y)
  • IS an authorized dealer according to the Mist King Web site.(y)
  • Was very pleasant to speak with when I called to ask about shipping days to my location. (y)
I've been going back and forth for days deciding what to get and where. So on a whim, I bought it tonight.

I'm NOT an impulse buyer like my wife, so this is really bugging me - not as much has hand misting or missing a misting due to being at work does though.

Im not sure about any of that warranty but lllreptile has always been very intuitive with customer support. Thats where i got my cham and some crickets. If you have a question and email them, theyd always reply within a week. Its been a year or two since ive conducted any bussiness with them but :p please let me know how it goes for you! Id also like to order from them, rather than the mistking website. I want the default options so i dont think it matters for me who i order from.

Sorry to the OP, didn't mean to thread jack you. :(

I got the same impression as well. Very nice and took the time to explain shipping options and delivery times from CAL to OH. The $4 shipping will take 4-10 days they said, but most arrive within the 4-5 day time frame. I'm OK with that.

I'll follow up with the forum either in this thread or create my own.

Sorry i say that twice i didnt realize i did lol! Silly me:p and no trouble about taking over the thread, ill take what i can get. :D

I also have one more question for anyone who will answer, how much water do you find your mistking uses a day? I just want an idea of how much. Gallons? A soda cans amount? Less? More?

Reason being the instructions supposedly say you should have a drainage holdage and big as your water reserve should it mess up. I hear this isnt really much to worry about with mist kings but its just a precaution, one id like to take.

I have two chameleons, one a montane species so she drinks a lot. I also use screen cages. I go through about a 5 gallon bucket I think every 5-6 days, though I never fill it up full when I fill it. This is because I have fresher water more often. But my mistings are long for my montane, and I have a lot of them. None of my regular misting schedule goes below 4 minutes, though I do add 2 minutes misting intervals depending on the heat waves going on. But yes it all depends on where you live, what they are in, and what species you have.

I agree with all the different factors i just wanted some sort of idea of how much it took up in other peoples cases. :p

I don't go through a ton of water. Especially since you are getting likely only a single cham from what you've talked about? When I got Hope and put her on the same system, especially because I had to increase the time a bit, she caused a lot more water draw. I think when I just had Ryker on his older schedule and he was my only chameleon that was attached to the mist king (because anyone else I had in my house was just passing through and left when they were better) he went through I think 5 gallons of water... in a week and 2-3 days? He used up hardly anything. He also loved his showers so he'd get a shower once or twice a week. Spoiled boy.

Good to hear! I was hoping i could get a smaller water reserve and just refill every few days, if that doesnt work for me i can always get a larger bucket. And yes i plan on just getting one. :D

I dont have a misting system, ive had ishues with them so thats why ive decided to attempt to diy. If i could fog on any schedule in combination with hand misting would be gravy for me. If i ever went on a long car trip my chameleons would be left without water. So i thought a fogger would be a cconvient alternative. (Long car trip being -6 or so hours) thanks for your advice ☺️
I used to mist/fog a lot until black mold started growing on the room walls. Toxic stuff to humans, and you cant sell your house if it is bad.
