couple of quick questions?

ok well everything seems to be going smoothly up til now but i have a few questions hopefully someone could help me with?

The chameleon doesn't seem to move off the vine at the back of the viv, i have two vines running up the tank one near the heat lamp and one away, he likes sitting at the one away from the heat lamp, should i move the vine?

When it comes to misting / spraying the viv should i avoid spraying him or like to try to get him, sometimes he doesnt mind it, other times he trys to move away?

Lastly it seems he is a fussy eater... i hand caught the crickets yesterday for him, place em next to where he was positioned and he eate 5 i think which is roughly what he should be eatting a day, is this normal?

I have done quiet a bit of research but these things are only now coming to light since i have had Alvin.

Thanks

Mike

what is the temp on his basking branch and how are you measuring it? if it doesn't seem to stress him it should be okay to spray him with warm water, but if it does stress him then just spray the leaves and around where he is at, are you using a dripper or just hand spraying? i also recommend cup feeding

Cage Type - Wooden, one mesh door one glass, ventalation at back of viv aswell
Lighting - Unsure, but a AV bulb and heat bulb paint blue at the bottom.

Plants - All fake plants, thinking of getting real plants but want to research best ones.

Placement - tank is currently on a cabinet opposite side of the room away from the window

Location - Essex, UK

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Yemen Chameleon, roughly 3 inches from head to vent. 5 inches to tail.

Handling - 3 times so far, once in Cold Blooded, once when we got home and once so i could move a few things in his tank, 3rd time hissed at me and opened mouth!

Feeding - 5/6 medium crickets daily, gutted loaded.

Supplements - we are dusting the crickets and have 2 boxes at present, dusted & gut loaded one day, gut loaded the other

Watering - Spray bottle at the minute, usually for about 30secs until leaves are saturated, normally spray Alvin too. Have seen him lick his lips and the leaves too.

Fecal Description - White although i have only seen 2 pieces so far.

History - None.

Current Problem - As above.

First I would get real plants in there here is a list of safe plants http://flchams.com/safe_plant_list.asp

You also want to get a reptisun 5.0 fluorescent bulb for uvb and you can use a 40watt house hold bulb for basking

You want to dust your crix with calcium at about 5-6 times a week
Dust wth calcium+D3 Twice a month and with a multivitamin twice a month

If your cham is not in the baskin area all the time its ok and probably warm enough in the cage. I would also purchase something to monitor the humidity in the cage. If you can post some pictutres of your cham and of the cage =]
