Crafting sticks?

Hey everyone. Getting really close to finishing my enclosure. Was wondering if it would be ok to use the sticks found at a store like Wal-Mart in the arts and crafts section? They are pretty smooth but i was thinking i could use some sand paper on them to rough it up a little. What do you guys think?

Do you mean dowels? Some people use them. Be sure to get more than one size (diameter) so your cham exercises his grip in a variety of ways.
Only one size of grip can lead to bumble foot.

Yes i mean dowels. Is there a need to sand them down or should they be fine how they are?

Unless they are slick you can use them as is. People use the pre made bird ladders all the time.

i use sticks from my backyard. Put them in the oven for 20 mins at 450, clean off any dead stuff and your good to do. But as the others said they should be fine as long as rough them up a little bit.
