Crazy weather

Here it is, January in the midwest, and I had the chameleon out for an hour today in 60 degree weather. I've always lived in the midwest (MN, MI and now NE), and am used to having one or two warm days in late December or January, but we've had highs in the 40s, 50s and 60s for weeks now, with no end in sight! People are watering their lawns and shrubs because we've been dry and, while it's great to be able to take deBary out and he surely hasn't been complaining (except when I bring him back in), I'm hoping plants, reptiles, etc. don't get themselves into trouble by acting like it's spring and then suddenly finding themselves in the cold.

we are so spoiled living in Florida that we forget what the rest of the country lives like, with the exception I guess of California and Arizona. It was in the 40's the other morning and I was bummed cause I would not be able to bring my cham out for some sun. That is the first day since I can remember that I just didn't walk out the door to put him outside in his cage. Florida is really an ideal place to raise a chameleon. It is hot in the summer but they can still go out at different periods of the day. I am from Chicago and I know what January weather is like and 60 degrees would be crazy for that time of year!

It's like that here in the UK too Heather! We haven't really had a cold snap yet this winter, whereas last winter we had snow on 6th December! According to a report on the radio, the 'winter' has been pushed back 6 weeks, so there is still a chance that things could change yet. I have also had my daffodil bulbs shooting through already too!

We had a huge blizzard in October, then the nexf week it was 70 degrees, all the trees started budding lol

I think the cold weather from up north moved down here. :D It was cold here this week. It was 44 one morning on my screened back porch but warming up for the weekend with the highs in the mid 70's.

I know what you mean Heather.. Where is our midwest freezing cold winter at?! D: It looks so brown everywhere here. I'm not complaining yet though. Wait until it snows and I'm sure you'll see me complaining on here. :b

well, this is probably one of the warmest years Pennsylvania has had in a looong time. we had one snow on Halloween, that went away in a day. one snowy day in November, one in December, and we got snow the other day. everyday it has snowed, it was gone in a day or two. just two days ago we had 6 degree weather, and this morning it was 40 out..talk about the weather being bipolar -.- but oh well..other than it being muddy all the time, its kinda nice :) ...im sure if we dont have too much more snow, we will be in trouble during summer..all the melted snow in the spring is what fills up our reservoirs and wells :/ and we havent had a drought in a looong time...
