Creative May'be

Any thoughts on a more creative contest for May? Inspired by Trace and flyingpanther, people in the live chatroom suggested a contest of tails. Another suggested the addition of closeup scales.

Something that would not exclude other members.

Funniest cham photo...? I always love the photos you can get of chameleons on their hind legs...very comical

I'm totally sold on the idea that the photo contest (at least for a month, or even every other month) should be a themed contest. I really like the idea of tails being the theme next month. Scales idea is neat too iff compact camera users feel comfortable with taking close up of scales. It may be a good lee way to learn what that flower mode is on your cameras if you didn't know it existed.

It can be really easy to figure out what type of creative contest we could have next month: Have everybody vote on a poll until the end of the month on the main page.

We already have 2 entries:

• Tails
• Scales

Yes, please start implementing a theme to the photo contest.
It also dosent need to be every month, but atleast every other.
Tails, scales, pygmies, sleeping, tounge shots, eye, etc.

Or how 'bout we go one step further and have photo manipulation contest? (Chameleon themed of course!) There are some wonderful computer artists here.

Or one step back and have people submit drawings or paintings of chameleons. There has to be a few of us that still like doing things the old way.

Those are great ideas guys. Morphing Im with you. I have an artistic eye and ear for music but drawing No. I dont even think my stick chameleon would turn out right hahaha. I like the idea of a poll too. Everytime you want to do a themed contest have people give ideas then vote on them.

I like the drawing and photoshop ideas, but I worry we would not get enough entries. They would probably have to be separate from the main monthly contest. I thought the video contest would receive more response.


It looks like we will probably have a tails contest for May. I was considering tails and scales, but that might get too complicated. An official announcement will be made Thursday.
