Crestie doesn't like crickets.

We'll see if anyone here has any suggestions.
I have two baby cresties( Alice and Dora) both in individual critter keepers. I refer to them both as she, despite that I cannot yet sex them. I guess I'm being hopeful because I want them to live together and the boys complicate matters. I've had them since sometime mid Nov. when I got them from a reptile show.

I've fed them alternately with crickets and Repashy gecko diet.
Alice does not eat crickets or show any interest in them. First time I thought she ate the cricket while I wasn't watching, only to find the cricket show up a day later.
Recently this happened again and the cricket was in there for about two days. This time I had put the Repashy in too, thinking the cricket can eat that too. I thought she got the cricket and then suddenly the cricket pops up again drinking from her water dish.

I mentioned I was going to simply quit feeding Alice crickets and I was told baby cresties raised without insects are not as healthy and get growth stunted. So I'm thinking I'll keep trying the crickets and removing them. Then as I'm browsing this site, I find this horrid picture of a cham chewed by crickets. I knew crickets can attack, but I didn't realize they can kill a small lizard.

Here is another issue, Alice is more shy then Dora and I've only seen her eat once. I'm thinking next around I order tiny crickets and hope that tiny crickets won't be as much of a potential threat being left in overnight.

I feed my cresties silkworms. They don't do crickets much either, but the silks and horn worms go over really well.

I don't think that CGD fed crested get stunted growth, but I have heard that they don't grow as quickly. I've used both methods (CGD only or a mix with bugs) and I haven't really noticed a difference in any of the geckos I've ever had.

But yea, you can always try smaller crickets. And to correct any fear of them harming your babies, you could put them in a sort of cup. It would have to be medium height and you can put it under their favorite perches, the cresties with their sticky toes will climb in and catch bugs and then climb back out. And you can keep track of how many of them are being eaten.

I've got 1/4 inch crickets on order now and I'll try and put them in a container next time. I was trying to aim for smallest economical crickets and since pinheads cost twice as much I bought these. Still will keep on trying to breed my adult crickets and then I'll have a thousand pinhead crickets.

Also will check into silk/hornworms, but I think being winter time the crickets might be the easiest option. Maybe look for the silk/horns worms next time I can attend a reptile show.
