Cricket Cleaning and Maintenance

So I've learned quickly that cricket cleaning sucks. Risght now I keep about 1,000 crickets in a big blue bin and clean it about once every ten days. It's smells like crap and obviously I'd like to improve the process. Does anyone have any recommendations? Obviously roaches are cleaner, but lets assume I have to keep crickets.

Clean weekly, and try feeding a little parsley for fresh smell.

I use a wide spackling knife and clean every other day. My crickets don't smell and I don't get any die off.

Screen the bottom and the grass will fall through onto a tray. Easy it is grasshopper!

So what I do for my roaches is use two sterilite bins. the same size. I have cut the bottom out of one and put fairly fine screening across the bottom with the hot glue gun. I put the bugs and egg crate inside, egg crate on it sides the best I can and the frass falls mostly through the screening and into the second bin it is placed in. Then I just dump out the frass from the bottom bin. I stack them like you see them in the store. I just put a lid (also cut out and screened) on the top one. I drill small holes through both of the bins sides for ventilation. I don't do crickets, but its pretty much the same as housing the roaches I think.

You still have to clean food and some poop but it is much easier and you get a bit more time between cleanups. You do tend to lose some dry gut load through the screen but its not too bad if you are careful moving the bins around.
