Cricket Hunting

As I type this I hear a cricket crawling on some papers directly behind me. I have been gone all day and came back to the loud chirp in my bedroom. He illuded me for nearly 30 minutes, but now I have a location. I am waiting for the most opertune time to attack. It appears as though he has spotted me. All lights are off, preperations have been made for the strike. Flashlight and budwiser in hand. Attack will commence at 0000 hours. If I am not heard from by Monday please send reinforcements.

Yes I get these gits making noise all the time I dont even know how they escape half the time!
 
Dude, i hate crickets so much. Like i will not hold one. Maybe a 1/4th or 1/2" but anything bigger than that i will not touch. They just scare me for some reason. But what's weird is i will hold a 1.5" Dubia with no problem.
Hope you catch that sucker and don't have to fall asleep and awaken to him on your face which happened to me a while ago.

I hate bugs too. We have crix escape all the time and I freak out when I see them running across the floor. :p
 
I'm not a big fan of touching crickets either. They remind me of cockroaches too much. When they freak out those 6 legs just go wild and feel disgusting.
 
my mom always finds crickets downstairs in my house. i ask her what color they are and if they are the black ones they are not mine, thos are strays. i dont stop on them or kill them myself. i like to feed them to my cham or turtles so i can make an example of him.

I like the idea of a beer flash light combo so you can keep 1 hand free. We need to work on that. hee hee.

The crickets have him pinned down! It's time to send in reinforcements. Call the Hungry Chameleon Special Forces Unit... they'll know what to do.
 
I have a swat team that helps me with escaped crickets. My Min Pins loves to hunt them. They sniff them out and starts to dig where the crickets are. It is the funniest thing. The pooches catch most of the crickets in the house.

My cats love to hunt mine! well... they chase them... swat them... carry them around in their mouths and then drop it. . . they never kill it :rolleyes:
 
Haha.. I live for the short moments when I get to grab a cricket or two by there antennae. Cruel, but I feel like it makes keeping those damn things worth it. I like the roaches much better. I found one on top of my chams cage earlier today. I was like "Hey little buddy, what are you doing up here" lol. Talking to roaches. Great.....
