Crickets hiding

Hi,
New Veiled Chameleon owner here. When I got my Cham I also got the Chameleon starter kit which comes with the cage, lights, and everything. It also came with the carpet but I've caught several crickets hiding under the carpet. I understand the carpet is important but is there a way to keep the crickets from going under the carpet? Thanks in advance for any help

Don't use that carpet. You can use only the plastic as it is good for cleaning and no mold in the future
