Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon – Flap Neck Chameleon, Female , not sure the specific age but at least a year old. I’ve had her for 7 months now.
Handling – Maybe once a month but I do look and talk to her everyday while she’s in her cage.
Feeding – About 5-6 crickets a day around noon. I gut load the crickets with apples and “Fluker’s High Calcium Cricket Diet”.
Supplements – I dust the crickets with Zoo Med Repti Calcium (without D3) after I purchase them. I haven’t been using Calcium with D3 though.
Watering – Flucker’s Mini Dripper System. I mist her and the whole cage about twice a day with hot water out of a hand held mister bottle. I also spray her cage and the plants with Zilla Humidifying Spray “Tropical Mist”. I usually see her drinking in the morning but I do see her drink during the day as well.
Fecal Description – The color is brown with white urinate and its slimy looking. I did test her for parasites and it came back positive. I got the medication for it but never finished giving it to her!
History – The exotic pet store I got her from obviously didn’t know much about her cause they told me she was a graceful when she’s a flap neck and didn’t give me a clear answer of her age but they said she’s around a year old.

Cage Info:
Cage Type – Zoo Med Repribreeze Screen Cage. 24x24x48.
Lighting - Zoo Med Power Comp Rep Sun 5.uvb in the Zoo Med Deep Dome Lamp Fixture. I turn the light on in the morning and turn it off when the sun has gone down. Now that it is winter and the time has changed her light usually goes of around 7:45 or 8ish.
Temperature – The temperature ranges usually from about 70-75F during the day and the very lowest has been 68F during the night. I have not bought a basking light yet but I do plan to. For now I have a portable heater that I’ve placed in front of her cage that is kind of angled at one corner and it turns off and on by itself. I have a Zoo Med Analog Dual Thermometer and Humidity Gauge that’s velcroed at the top of the cage.
Humidity – The humidity levels are usually around 50-60%. I maintain the levels by misting and using Zilla Humidifying Spray “Tropical Mist”. I use the Zoo Med Analog Dual Thermometer and Humidity Gauge to measure the humidity.
Plants – I am using real plants and a few fake leaves and vines (Exo Terra Jungle Vine that are zip-tied to the sides of the cage). I have two plants in her cage; one is a Ficus Tree, and the other is a Dwarf Umbrella Tree.
Placement – The cage is in a corner or our living room and has a fairly medium traffic area but not that bad. There is a window behind the cage and I open the blinds during the day for her to look outside. The cage is on the ground for now, which is on tile, but I do plan to get some kind of stand for it to sit on top of in the future.
Location – Houston, Texas.

Current Problem – The only thing I’m concerned about right now is whether or not I can finish giving the medication I got for parasites a few months ago or does it expire? I got two tubes of liquid medication; one yellow and the other white. Anyways the reason why I stopped was cause I think it was really stressing her out due to the fact that I had to force her mouth open.

Now that it is winter and the time has changed her light usually goes of around 7:45 or 8ish.to save you and her stress of lights turning on and off go to lowes and buy a atomatic timer for like 5 dollars. pritty easy to set and can work a few cages. 12 hours on and 12 hours off is standard.

call you vet and ask. explain what you did and he may let you just go buy a refill

i hope i helped you a bit. your doing mostly everything just fine. you should post pics of her ^^

Hi there,

I also live in Houston. Can I ask where you got your chameleon from? The medication is still good if you only got it a few months ago. I would give her the rest of the dosage that you were supposed to give her.

Antibiotics need to be taken for a certain length of time to achieve the benefit of them. Since you did not do the full time You need enough of the med to start all over again and not just finish off what you did not do before.

I would make sure you have enough to do so and still ask the vet if safe to use it. You might not have had it stored properly to keep its full strenghth
