Dont know about beer, but sugar+starch+water mixture works. Basically an uncooked bread or cookie. So yes beer and molasses would work, or molasses and wet news paper, or molasses and wet bread, etc.
Then you have to make a comfy cricket house. This can be 3 things:
The old cut the plastic bottle neck in half and reverse it trap, and lay it on its side
put your mixure undera few slightly wrinkled wet news papers in the area
a cardboard tube that has a cotton ball on each end, with enough of a gab that the cricket can get in, with the mixure in the middle
