Ok so Ive finally decided the type of Chameleon to get. Im going to get a male Veiled Chameleon. Im starting him off in a 24''X24''X36'' cage. But I have an idea for a custom cage and I would like some advice. Ok so the cage i have in mind is going to be 9' total height. One foot of that is the legs. Oh yeah its gonna be wood lol. Probably important to mention that. Seven feet is the height of the actual enclosure. The width would be 6' and the depth would be 4'. The top and door would be screen. I would like the sides to be wood but I dont know if that would provide enough ventilation. I know I need to provide drainage so I was wondering if the flooring could be screen with supporting 2''X2''s? If not then Ill have to come up with a new design. I have an idea for the door that seems practical for cleaning but I need an opinion on that to. The door would have 2 4'X3' doors that swing out to either side and under that would be a 3'X6' door that swings down. The doors would have heavy duty latches so that they dont accidently come open. And the last thing is I would love to have it made of pine but I read that pine is bad for Chameleons. So I was wondering if I could use poly eurathane varnish? Thanks so much. Attached is a rough design of the enclosure
