I have a nebilizer from back when i was sick ...i was wondering if anyone knew if that would work as a misting sytem

Nebulizing is not misting. Your nebulizer will help with increasing humidity for a short period, but it isn't designed to run for very long, or provide large enough particles to create water drops. That type of neb is flow driven, and the actual nebulizer (the plastic cup), doesn't last very long. Trust me, I'm an RT. You're best off looking into misting systems.
