David Attenborough DVD - Life In Cold Blood

I've seen it its quite a good series alot of interesting scenes etc. The books also out as well.

The dvd has not been released on DVD in the US yet. It should be sometime this year though.
If you go to veoh.com and search for Life in cold blood, you can download player and the video files in avi format and make a temporary dvd untill the real one comes out. That's what i did.

How many episodes are there? I plugged it into the TiVo search box and it found three episodes on Animal Planet. I think one of them recorded this morning and the other two are on tomorrow. Is that all there is?

There is a total of 5 episodes.

You know what trips me out about this show, all the herps seem to like love david. For instance, the california side blotch, if any of you ever seen them, they are friggin fast little suckers. You can't even get near one without it taking off. He is calmly sitting right next to one and the lizard doesn't have a problem with that. Or how the iguana swims up on the third episode right in front of him.
I find that strangely odd.

What the hell is "Pal 4" ... I found it on DVD from ebay but says it is region Pal 4... will that play on my X Box 360? I feel like we are being neglected of this awesome DVD. Any word on when they are going to release it for Americans to watch?

that is the player region code (USA is region 1)
if you plug the dvd into a western region player (of any sort) it will not function.

The way around this is to RIP the DVD down to your computers HD
with a piece of DVD RIP software that is able to handle the different region codes
then re-burn the DVD using another piece of burning software.

To do this is 100% legal within the united states since it counts as a
"single backup of your legal media"

Your only problem now is to get the software
and teach yourself how to use it.
you should be able to find all that info online.

OR bittorrent the series.. then translate and burn to a DVD (region 1)
some DVD players are nice and play .avi and other file types so you won't
have to convert to a mp2 and encode.

aw, that's all photoshop! silly humans believe anything :p

Is this legal?

i dont think so, but the way i figure it is if i dont profit
off of selling or anyother way then pure enjoyment
then i concider it fine.
if i was selling it and making money off of it then that
would be wrong.

just my way of convincing myself that im not doing anything bad.

If your XBOX 360 has a mod-chip in it you can likely adjust a setting to watch PAL movies. My regular XBOX can play PAL games with the mod-chip that it has.

Good Luck !!

Dyesub Dave. :D

I would like to keep warez and other illegally traded media off this site. That includes links and how-to's. I will add something to the rules that covers this topic tomorrow.

Although there is some chameleon footage in the first episode, the lizard episode has a chameleon segment that's at least 12 minutes long with some great footage throughout.

Well, Since we are not as lucky as our European Counterparts I had to order a copy of the hard cover book(okay i thought I was getting the DVD:D). Just came today... Seems really cool, only about 4 or 5 pages on Chams but it looks like it has a lot of great info on a wide range of Herps, not to mention the impressive pictures.
